San Saba Nursing and Rehabilitation held a pep rally and provided appreciation snacks for the San Saba Varsity football team this past week.

Entering the dining hall to a heartfelt and rousing chant of “We Believe”, the team had the opportunity to shake hands with their biggest and most loyal fans. Many of these fans are unable to attend games but they are dedicated listeners to the radio broadcasts at game time. As the team worked their way around the room shaking hands and posing for pictures, numerous comments could be heard about finally getting to meet who they heard so much about on the radio.

Mary Cason one of the 28 residents in attendance for the event commented “I’ve heard Eli Salinas' name a lot and finally got to meet him”. Another resident said “So you are Logan Glover, I have heard a lot about you”. Other residents around the packed room gladly shook hands and hugged the team members. Many of the players have relatives in residence in the facility so those encounters were particularly special.
