James W. Wilder, age 61, of San Saba passed away in Abilene, Texas on May 22, 2019. James was born in San Saba, Texas to Jack Wilder and Wilma Vondene (Adams) on February 21, 1958. James retired from St. Gobain (Norton) 2017. He was an avid outdoors man who won numerous bass fishing awards. James was most proud of his children who he worked so hard for to give them what they needed. He loved unconditionally, was wise and had lots of stories about his childhood and life in general. James also loved Funko, Monday Raw, Pokémon Go, Saturday morning cartoons, James Bond movies, gardening and birding.

James is survived by his mother, Wilma Vondene Wilder; sister, Janice Bates, and brother, Ray Dale Wilder; six children: Jessica Wilder, Cheyenne Wilder, Shonna McGinn-Sherman, Rayelynn Stevens, Debra Phillips and Joshua Luna; uncles, Bill Wilder and James Adams; nieces: Lily Wilder, Autumn Wilder, Audra Bates-Garcia, Cheyenne Leithead and Heather Leithead; nephew, Michael Leithead; one granddaughter, Rayelynn Stevens; and a host of extended family and cousins.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Wilder; his father, Jack Wilder; grandparents, and aunts and uncles.

His Celebration of Life service was held May 25, 2019 at Blaylock Funeral Home in San Saba, with interment in the Harris Cemetery.

James' family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials by donations should be made to the American Diabetes Association.
