Ronnie S. Gilbert, 67, of Lometa, TX died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.

He was born November 21, 1951 in Abilene, TX, the son of Lowell B. Gilbert and Marjorie Lee (Isenburg) Gilbert. He moved to Lampasas when he was a sophomore in high school and had remained in the area since. Ronnie was a diesel mechanic by trade, a Licensed to Carry Instructor, woodworker, knifemaker, avid outdoorsman, active in youth mentorship through Royal Rangers, and enjoyed historical pioneer camping and re-enactment. He was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God, where he served churches throughout Central Texas.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, JeanieAndrews Gilbert; daughters, Misty Maldonado (Mario) and Lora Johnson; son, Bodie Gilbert (Marc Waters); sister, Karen Taylor; grandchildren: Colt Maldonado (Jessica), Kenzie Hernandez (Scott), and Thomi Torres (Anthony); great-grandchildren: Kaylee Jae Hernandez, Tova Torres, Bella Torres, Kacelyn Hernandez, and Kahia Hernandez; and aunts: Bertha (Sissy) Gilbert, Jo Hobbs, Cora Isenburg, and Laura Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle, Slim Gilbert.

Funeral service was held Monday, January 14th at New Covenant Church. Burial followed in Senterfitt Cemetery.

Sneed Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
