Robison Cloyd (R.C.) Edmondson, 86, of Goldthwaite, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, in Round Rock, Texas.

R.C. was born on Jan. 18, 1932, in Mullin, Texas, to William Joseph and Willie Fern (Albright) Edmondson. He married Della Louise Reichert on August 20, 1960.

After graduating from San Saba High School, he attended Tarleton State College for two years and then Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where he received his degree in agriculture. He spent two years as a pre-flight instructor at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio where he rose to the rank of Captain.

He was a retired Vocational Agriculture teacher, having taught his entire 38-year career at Pettus High School in Pettus, Texas. Agriculture and the FFA was not just a job, but it was part of who he was. When he retired from the profession, the love of Ag never left! It truly came full circle for him when in 2015, his grandson, Jason, became the State FFA President! It was the culmination of his legacy that had started so long before.

After retirement, he and Della became an integral part of the Goldthwaite community. From handing out ribbons and being buyers at the Mills County Livestock Show, to being part of the local retired teachers’ organization, as well as R.C. completing a long stint as the President of the Mills County Historical Society and playing a key role in the renovation of the Mills County Courthouse in Goldthwaite. He was a member of the Goldthwaite Church of Christ.

Survivors include his two sons and their wives: Mark and Barbara Edmondson of Burnet, and Clay and Wendy Edmondson of Lago Vista; four grandsons: Jason, Ryan, Michael and Trent; two granddaughters: April and Tiffany; three sisters: Azalee Tatum of Willow Park, Texas, Annece Allan of Cedar Park, Texas, and Mary Throckmorton and her husband, Billy, of Burleson, Texas; brother-in-law - Lester Reichert, and his wife, Delphine, of Jourdanton, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Della, and his brother, Athol Joseph Edmondson.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 22nd, at Stacy-Wilkins Chapel in Goldthwaite. Burial followed in Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home in Goldthwaite.
