Emilie Frances Everett Bowman, age 81, passed away on Monday, September 17th, 2018 in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. Services for Mrs. Bowman were held on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home San Saba, Texas at 10:00 a.m..

Emilie (also known as Mimi and Em) was born on February 8, 1937 in San Saba, Texas to W.A. “Bud” Everett and Frances Harris Everett. She graduated from San Saba High School and attended college at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas where she met the love of her life, Coy Bowman. After getting married, they set out on a loving journey that took them across numerous towns in Texas while Coy moved up the corporate ladder with Beall’s Department Stores. They had two sons, Bryan and Brad, and although times were sometimes rough, they built a loving home and made many dear friends and memories.

Emilie lived the last several years in Houston, Texas and made many friends over that time. She was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Houston and was on the prayer gram team and was also a member of the Beholding His Glory Sunday School Group. She never met a stranger and was always helping others.

Emilie loved her family, friends, her Shitz Shu dog, Button, and especially her grandsons, Matthew and Jacob. Mom will be missed by so many but she definitely left her mark on all of us.

She is survived by her son, Brad and wife Cheryl Bowman, grandsons, Matthew and Jacob Bowman, brother, Bill “Will” Everett, cousin, Adrienne Meyer, and numerous other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Frances Everett, her husband, Coy Bowman, and son, Bryan Bowman.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice or to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77030, in Emilie’s name.
