Several years in the making, plans by the Parish and Finance Councils of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba to build a multi-use facility (includes a religious education center, parish office, a fellowship hall and a kitchen) have been partially completed. Phase I of this building project, which is divided into three phases, was completed in May of this year. Phase II involves renovation of Hedberg Religious Education Center to allow for a new Parish Rectory, while Phase III will be the removal of existing Hall/ Rectory/Office structures and installation of parking and landscaping.

The completion of Phase I could not have happened without the generosity of the St. Mary’s parishioners, the San Saba community, and the Diocese of Austin. Together, parishioners and non-parishioners pledged over $307,000 towards Phase I and a matching grant was received that allowed the project to move forward. St. Mary’s parishioners continue to work hard to raise funds to complete Phases II and III.
