Clarence Martin Davis, Jr, age 73, of San Saba, Texas passed away, June 21, 2014 after a brief illness. Visitation was from 6:00 - 8:00  P.M. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel  in San Saba, Texas. Clarence was born December 16, 1940 to Clarence Henry Davis and Beatrice Flaek Davis in Muldoon, Texas. He attended school in Elgin, Texas and graduated from Elgin High School in 1958. While in high school Clarence was nicknamed “roadrunner” for being the fastest runner in sports. Clarence spent his life working in construction and around the cattle industries. He loved to be around his cattle. He spent the last 30 years with his life companion, Lydia Flores. When Clarence was  younger, he made sure that his family would take  acations every year and that they went to all 50 states before they stopped going, even if it was only a mile into a state. After retiring Clarence and Lydia traveled the world and especially loved going to Fan Fare in Nashville, Tennessee every year with a large group which included Johnnie Lynn and Glennetta Sanderson. Clarence is survived by Lydia Flores, his wife, companion; 2 daughters, Terry Daughtry and husband, Shawn of Kingsland, Texas, and Misty Mendoza and husband, Oliver of Nigaragua; 5 grandsons, Jesse Daughtry, Chris Daughtry,Nick Daughtry, Zuriel Mendoza and Adrian Mendoza: 1 granddaughter, Krystal Daughtry; 2 brothers, Darrell Davis and wife, Susan and Dennis Davis; 2 brother-in-laws, Thomas Flores and wife, Mary, Paul Flores and wife, Rosa; 3 sister-in-laws, Senaida Calderon and husband, Salvador, Pauline Flores and Elvira Soto; 7 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
