Joe Reyes, 74, of San Saba, Texas, passed away Monday, May 5th, 2014, in San Saba. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday, May 8th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., with burial to follow at San Saba City Cemetery. Joe was born on August 14th, 1939, in San Saba, to Ernesto and Emilia Reyes. He met the love of his life Mary Rojas and they were married in 1962. Together they had two beautiful children, Delfina and Jerry. He was a devoted husband, father and man of faith. He and his wife were life long members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba. Joe grew up and lived his entire life in San Saba, Texas. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in his yard, shearing sheep, and working in the Pecan Orchards of San Saba County. Joe also had a love for music and playing the accordion in the band with his beloved brothers. Many memories  were made during those wonderful times. But Joe’s true love was the time that he spent with his wife, his children and his entire family. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Emilia Reyes, one sister; Emilia Campos, and two brothers, John and Jesus Reyes. Survivors include his wife, Mary of San Saba; one daughter, Delfina Leal, and husband, Lolo, of San Saba; one son, Jerry Reyes, and wife, Ann of Richland Springs; four sisters, Martha Gonzales, and husband, Mike, of San Saba, Leona Gill of Lampasas, Maxine Esquivel, and husband Lorenzo of San Saba and Maria Gonzales, and husband, Manuel of Arizona; one brother, Ernesto Reyes, Jr. and wife, Virginia of San Saba, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers include Sylvester Gonzales, Larry Esquivel, Mario Gill, Eric Reyes, Pedro Torres, Moses Esquivel, Avilio Gonzales, Trevor  Tinney, and Avilio Gonzales, Jr
