Balfri Sebastian Aguilar, 78, of Brady, Texas, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, in Comanche, Texas. The Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with burial in
Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Balfri was born on January 30, 1936, in Guanajuato, Mexico, to Delfino and Juana (Vega) Aguilar. He married Maria Garcia on May 30, 1957 in San Felipe, Guanajuato and had lived in Brady  since 1977 after moving here from Comanche, Texas. Balfri grew up in Mexico and began working at a young age. He herded sheep as a child, before serving in the military in Mexico as a teenager. He enjoyed ranch work and working with animals. He especially loved horses and had broken many through the years. Balfri was a hard worker and enjoyed the outdoors. He had worked on ranches and did fence work along with having worked many years for Roddie Wool in Brady and, in later years, with Oliver Pecan in San Saba. Balfri loved being with his family and friends and loved to tell stories of his past. Many good memories were made with the family gathered together, cooking out, enjoying his favorite food, pork in chili rojo, and listening to his stories. Balfri was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Maria Aguilar, one son, Javier Aguilar, and five daughters; Gregoria
Barron, Magdalena Solis Aguilar, Maria Aguilar and twins, Maria Antonia and Maria San Juan Aguilar. Survivors include two daughters; Andrea Aguilar and husband, Luis, of Hamilton, Texas, and Maria Elena Solis and
husband, Manuel, of Brady; one son, Margarito Aguilar of Brady, daughter-in-law Ofelia Aguilar of Brady; 12 grandchildren including Leroy Jose Aguilar of Comanche, Texas; and 23 great-grandchildren.
