Edith Heloise Dean, passed away on April 16, 2014 in Early, Texas. She was born on January 20, 1918, to her parents, Jacob Wade Blackwell and Rhoda (Burnett) Blackwell in Bussey, Arkansas. She married Charlie D. Dean on February 26, 1936. Edith worked as a Dietitian/Manager in the School Food Service most of her life, retiring in 1980. She moved from Springhill, LA to May, Tx in 2005. She loved cooking, quilting and sewing. She is survived by one son, David R. Dean of May, Texas; one daughter, Rhodell Dean of May, Texas; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Dean of Lometa, Texas; one nephew, Mike Dean of Lampasas, Texas; one niece, Delores Kirby of Lometa, Texas, and a special family friend, Richard Randolph of Cherokee, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie D. Dean, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Cherokee Baptist Church in Cherokee, Texas with Brother Richard Couch officiating.
