Margaret Elaine (Womack) Foster, 86, of Richland Springs, Texas, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in Richland Springs. Visitation was held from 1– 2 p.m., Friday, October 4, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Richland Springs, with funeral services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Burial was at Richland Springs Cemetery. Elaine was born on November 29, 1926, in Goliad, Texas, to Jesse Lee Womack and Margaret (Stockton) Womack. She attended A&I in Kingsville and graduated in 1946 with a double major in science and math. After graduation she taught for one year at Freer where she met the love of her life, David Lloyd Foster. They were married in Alice, Texas, on June 22, 1947. At the time of his death, they had been married for 63 years. Elaine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marble Falls and had been a San Saba County resident for six years. Elaine was a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron. She loved taking care of animals and enjoyed the ranching lifestyle. She was also active in helping with Vacation Bible School. Elaine is preceded in death by husband, David Lloyd Foster; son, David Lee Foster; parents, Jesse Lee and Margaret Womack; and stepmother, Lorena Womack. Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Gunn, and husband, Tom of Quitman, Texas, and Pam Starr and husband, John of Richland Springs; grandchildren, Jessica Starr of Richland Springs, Sarah Starr Locker and Michael Locker of Abilene, Catherine and Hayland Hardy of Quitman, Amanda Sekour of Austin, and Ben and Molly Gunn of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten great-grandchildren, Hayle, Hope, Haven, Hannah, Leo, Evelyn, Elorna, Liberty, Addie, and Pepper. The family requests any memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Richland Springs. Arrangements were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba.
