Spring activities are already in full swing in the community and at school. The weather has been spring-like the last few days. It is clear and windy today. Seems March may be coming in like a lion this year! In local news, Casey Gossett coached the Richland Springs team of 3rd & 4th and 5th and 6th boys Little Dribblers to victory last Saturday in San Saba. Shawn Skaggs, grandson of Valerie and Wayne Gossett, won Grand Champion at the San Antonio Stock Show with his heifer.

I think it must be time for some serious rain prayers. I know many people are spending time in prayer for that much needed resource, but this part of the county is really hurting. My daily walks with Glen are depressing. There are so many trees down and more to come.

If you thought January went by fast, this month put it to shame as it has been sonic speed. The winds have already started. So batten down the hatches because we know March is famous for wind and it will dry out what little bit of rain we recently received.

One of my favorite sayings is to out-love and out-last those who make life a challenge to improve your relationship with them. 1 Peter 4:8 "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins." I've learned that though we can't manipulate forgiveness, we can work toward it.

In observing young children I am amazed at what they learn at a very early age. One thing they are taught is that food is for the mouth, not all over the face or in the hair. Other lessons include not to throw temper tantrums, to say thank you and please.

A couple of years ago we were on a ranch in South Texas talking to the landowners about what else? Deer, of course. On this occasion, the landowner was complaining that, due to the deer having plentiful natural food sources, they were not coming out into the open where he could see them.
