There were only three players from Texas who were selected to make the trip to Hanna, Alberta, for the CanAm Bowl XXV.

The Texas boys were joined in Lambert, Montana, the week prior by gentlemen from Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana to practice, and prepare for the game. The final score of this game was 84-16 USA, and was the highest scoring in the 25 year history of the CanAm Bowl.

Rode was responsible for 18 of those points on his kicks alone, also had a 30 yard reception and a 25 yard kick return.
