The San Saba Middle School Tennis Team travelled to Mason on Wednesday, May 10, to play in the District 29-AA Middle School Tennis Tournament. Teams in the district that played in the tournament were San Saba, Mason, Johnson City, Junction, Hunt, and Center Point.
The San Saba Girls 7th Grade Team won the District Championship. Playing for the 7th Grade Girls Team were Kadence Isham, Josselin Rojas, andAlly Sweitzer. Kadence Isham won first place in Girls Singles by defeating teammate Josselin Rojas in the finals. Josselin came in second place.
The San Saba Boys 7th Grade Team came in third place behind Mason and Johnson City. Playing for the 7th Grade Boys Team were Tucker Johnson, Adrian Correa, and Dyan Hanna. Tucker Johnson came in second place in Boys Singles. Adrian Correa was a quarterfinalist in Boys Singles.
The San Saba Girls 8th Grade Team came in second place behind Mason. Playing for the 8th Grade Girls Team were Marlane Rodriguez, Perla Gil, Jaritzel Rojas, Aubrie Vasquez, Juanaracely Martinez,Mia Davila, Mariana Macedo, Daisy Macias, Brenda Aguirre, Karen Correa, Ana Rangel, Chancy McCoury, Holly English, Zoraya Cuevas, Adriana Bumgardner, Ximena Cuevas and Adriana Macedo. In 8th Grade Girls Singles, Marlane Rodriguez won 3rd place, and Perla Gil came in 4th place. In 8th Grade Girls Doubles, Mia Davila and Mariana Macedo won second place. Daisey Macias and Brenda Aguirre won 4th place. In Mixed Doubles, Ximena Cuevas and Angel Reyes won second place. Adriana Macedo and Kevin Aguilera won third place.
The San Saba Boys 8th Grade Team came in second place behind Mason. Playing for the 8th Grade Boys Team were Rodolfo Valdez, Isaac Hernandez, Angel Reyes and Kevin Aguilera. Angel Reyes came in second place with Ximena Cuevas and Kevin Aguilera came in third place with Adriana Macedo in Mixed Doubles.
The San Saba Middle School team played very well in the tournament with 13 players finishing in the top four places.
