Hunting with Soldiers, through the wonderful people at Fathers House Church, and many Ranches, brings 20 Veterans to the San Saba area in January every year for a deer hunt. We also were going to a Ranch that now has some Family issues (Nothing to do with HwS) and we may not be able to get our Veterans there like we used to all through the year.

40 Years Ago May 10, 1984 Band officers, solo and ensemble participants and seniors, Susan Barrier, Pam Kirkpatrick and Michele Prater, were honored at the San Saba High School Band banquet. The Louis Armstrong Award was presented to Tina Harvell and the John Phillip Sousa Award went to Susan Barrier.

Three years ago, I was getting ready for an auction at 1780 N. Hwy 16, San Saba, Texas. I was also packing up things to move to Ohio. As I unpacked things in Ohio, I realized there were things I brought to Ohio that should've been in the auction and some things in the auction that should be in Ohio. However, it is not the things that matter but the life I lived and the people in Texas. The words to an old song, Friends, expresses my thoughts and feelings.

I remember when I was trying to find a birthday card for my younger brother, and as I was looking, I came across some cards for Mothers Day. I thought of the times I looked for a card for my mother, but I also remembered a few times that I almost forgot.
