Aubrey Lee Spence 86, of San Saba, Texas went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Aubrey was born on October 17, 1925 near Lexington, Texas to Oras and Alma Spence. He served with distinction during WWII onboard the USS Franklin (CV- 13), receiving the Purple Heart for action on March 19, 1945.

Carl Gray (Pete) Hamrick, passed away February 21, 2012. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Heritage Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Graveside services are pending for Friday, February 24, 2012 at Chappel Cemetery in San Saba County. Heritage Funeral Home in charge of services.

Clarence W. Vaughn, 94, passed away on February 17, 2012. He was born to Willie and Flora Vaughn on March 30, 1917, in Bell County. He lived most of his life in San Saba County where he worked on the Deep Creek Ranch and then Leonard’s Farm. He worked on the Leonard’s Farms for 48 years after which he retired at the age of 85.

On June 6, 2010, Boots married Bertha Bryant, and they resided in San Saba.Raymond, affectionately known as Boots by everyone, never met a stranger.

Annie Laura Amthor Davis, age 93, slipped peacefully from this life on Friday, February 10, 2012 in Marble Falls, Texas. Ann was the daughter of George Marcus Amthor and Clara Kelly Amthor and was born August 14, 1918 in San Saba, Texas. She spent her youth on the A.H.Kelly Ranch with her grandmother Laura Harrison Kelly and her aunt, Minnie Kelly.

Jeanette Lee Lewis, 67 of Llano, Texas passed away Thursday, February 9, 2012. She was born April 18, 1944 to Russell Jones and Dorothy Lee (Ivey) Jones in Orange, California. Jeanette married Glenn Lewis January 17, 1980 in Llano, Texas. Mrs. Lewis worked as an abstractor for Moursund Law offices and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mason, Texas since 1965.

Joe Fred Flores, age 53, of San Saba passed away on Monday, February 6, 2012, at a local nursing home. He was born on May 23, 1958 to Adolfo Flores and Teckla Ramos. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Saba. Joe was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping and spending time with his family.
