David Powell, 65, of Richland Springs, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2008 in Temple. David was born July 11, 1943, in Sterling City, Texas, the son of William David Powell and Ella Ruth Miller Powell. David joined the Marines and served in the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by sons, David Loran DuBois and his wife Candi; Donnie Lawson Powell and his wife Sandy and Dusty Lee Powell.

Llos Boultinghouse, 73, of Cherokee, Texas, passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 in Llano. She was born April 15, 1935 in Best Texas. Llos was the daughter of Clive Raymond Calley and Mary Gladys Burgess Calley. On May 29, 1953 Jessie Llos Calley and House Boultinghouse were married in San Saba County.

Arlena Eckert Foster, 90, of Gunter, Texas passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Hilltop Haven, in Gunter. Arlena was born October 16, 1918 in San Saba County, the daughter of Walter Eckert and Jane Nolan Eckert. She graduated from Richland Springs High School in 1936. Arlena is survived by two grandsons, Mark Linn and his wife Louise, of Adelaide, SA.

Berniece Kuykendall, of Llano, TX, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008, in the Llano Memorial Hospital at the age of 88 years. She was born February 28, 1920, in Esbon, Texas, to Charles Lynn and Eva Jane (Wooten) Harlow. Berniece was the fourth of their seven children and their only daughter.

Bette Marchand Osbourn, a resident of Llano since 1940, coming from San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in Llano, Texas at the age of 94. She was born on September 15, 1914 to Leona (Reeves) and Mr. Marchand in San Antonio, Texas. Bette was married to Eugene “Russell” Osbourn in 1937 in San Antonio, who preceded her in death.

Bonnie Jane Johanson, 93, of Cherokee, Texas passed away November 6, 2008 at Goldthwaite Senior Health Center in Goldthwaite, Texas. She was born April 2, 1915, the oldest child of Dudley and Sallie Patrick Battle in Lone Grove, Texas, Llano County. On May 13, 1933, Bonnie Jane Battle and Clyde Johanson were married.

Frank C. “Bubba” Walker, 84, of Victoria, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008. He was born on Jan. 12, 1924, in San Saba, to Valley Woods and George B. Walker. After graduating from San Saba High School in 1942, Bubba served in the U.S. Navy during World War II aboard the USS Guadalupe AO-32, earning the rank of storekeeper second class.

Jack R. Turner joined wife Wanda in the heavenly kingdom. He faced his bout with cancer as he did all things in his life and that was head on with a positive attitude. Unfortunately on November 7, 2008 he lost the battle with cancer. Jack worked at University of Texas Automotive Department as Supervisor before his retirement.

Maxine Davis, age 89, of San Saba, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, October 28, 2008 in San Saba. She was born February 24, 1919 in San Saba County, the daughter of E.C. (Buddy) Smith and Flora Judkins Smith. On April 23, 1938, Maxine Smith married Joe Davis in San Saba County where they celebrated 54 years together.

Thomas B. Burnham, 85 passed away November 3, 2008 in Austin, where he has been a resident since November 1959. He was born December 13, 1922, in Rye Valley Community, Mills County,Texas, the eldest son of Coleman and Leona Hufstutler Burnham. A younger brother preceded him in death at infancy. Mr.
