Stoney Lee Crain, 82, of Denver City, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 in Denver City, Texas.Funeral services were conducted Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. in the Assembly of God Church in San Saba, Texas. Interment was Saturday January 14, 2012 in the Denver City Memorial Park with services under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.Stoney was born July 15, 1929 in San Saba, Texas to John and Dennie Crain.

Billie Bub McCoury went to sleep in Christ at the age of 79 on January 5, 2012, in Temple, Texas. Billie Bub was born on January 6, 1932 to James Maynard McCoury and Juanita Keeney McCoury in Chappel, Texas. Billie Bub was a 1949 graduate of San Saba High School.

Casey J. Weldon, Jr., 69 of Alba, TX passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012, at his residence.Casey was born February 7, 1942, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and lived most of his life in Louisiana where he was a field engineer in the oil industry. He moved to Alba in 1995 and was a member of East Texas Woodturners Association and the Lake Fork Baptist Church.

Howard R. Ruddick, 79, was born January 14, 1932 in Westbrook, Texas, the third son born of Isaac Ruddick and Dollie Morris Ruddick. When he was a young child his family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas where they made their new home. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico.

Lydia Smith, 70, formerly of San Saba, passed away peacefully at home in Belton on Sunday, January 8, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 2:00 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, in San Saba, Texas. A Rosary was held on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba.

Thomas Carson Edmondson Jr., 64, of Arlington, Texas died January 7, 2012.Thomas, also known as “Tommy”, “Coach Ed”, or “Ched” had a passion for family, friends, work, and life in general. He was best known for his passion for coaching. He coached in the Arlington school district for 35 years.

Dorianne McGregor Land, 70, of Vendor, Arkansas, died Friday, December 16, 2011 at her home. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 21, at the Newton County Baptist Church in Piercetown.The daughter of Taylor Gibbons and Lucy Maxine Doran McGregor was born December 30, 1940, in San Saba, Texas.

Howard Ruddick, age 79, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012. Services are pending with Blaylock Funeral Chapel, San Saba.

San Saba lost a life-long citizen on December 28, 2011 when Pioquinto Hernandez was called home at the age of 85. He was born to Juan and Refugia Hernandez on May 16, 1926. He was a hard worker and sheared sheep for the people of San Saba and surrounding areas for many years.

Bayleigh Elizabeth Ringo, 5, of Salado, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, in a Temple hospital. The service was at 1 p.m. Friday, December 23rd at First Baptist Church in Salado. The graveside service was at Harris Cemetery in San Saba.
