The San Saba County Friends of the NRA closed out a successful 2011 by raising more than ten thousand dollars for the furtherance of shooting sports in Texas and the Nation. Half of this money will remain in Texas and will be distributed through grants to youth sporting and education programs including the 4-H and FFA programs and the Boy Scouts.

Better Business Bureau warns consumers that scammers are making phony phone calls claiming to represent the National Do Not Call Registry.According to DoNotCall.gov, “The calls claim to provide an opportunity to sign up for the Registry. These calls are not coming from the Registry or the Federal Trade Commission, and you should not respond to these calls.

New yearbooks can be picked up at the clubhouse.George Amthor III and Jack Miller met with commissioners court at their January meeting and discussed applications for state funds to lengthen the air strip at the city-county airport.

All disturbances and prowler calls in the City of San Saba are responded to and handled by the San Saba Police Department. The confession by this suspect to the two vehicle burglaries given to Sheriff Brown occurred after the suspect was contacted by Chief Riggs and Sergeant Shaw of the Police Department.

Today I am officially announcing my candidacy for San Saba County Attorney. As a rancher in the Richland Springs area for over twenty years, I have come to know and love San Saba County and believe now is the time I can contribute to our county.
