On the evening of August 20, 2010, friends and customers gathered at Harry's to celebrate the Phase III Grand Opening, Boot and Tack Room. Seen above are couples enjoying live music by the Buck Martin Band.
Dear Editor: I first want to thank Larry Sanderson, Nelson Page and Reagan Burnham for their letters in response to my letter of the previous week. I know Larry and Reagan, and consider both upstanding citizens in our community, and I plan to remain friendly even though we may disagree concerning this important issue.
The Llano County Scottish Rite Club will join the San Saba Scottish Rite Club for its quarterly stated meeting on Thursday, September 9th at the San Saba Masonic Lodge Hall. This will be the first ever joint meeting with membership of both clubs. A special invitation by letter has also been made to include all Scottish Rite Masons at large in the adjoining counties who are not members of the clubs, but who are in good standing and to attend this gathering.
Apple Fest 2010 is upon us. This Saturday, September 4th, Apple Fest revelers will be descending on the Mason County Court house lawn. Families are expected from all over Texas! Last year as many as 3000 people spent the day in and around Mason to enjoy all that Apple Fest and Mason country have to offer.
San Saba Masonic Lodge No. 612 will hold its stated meeting on Saturday, September 4th. A meal of tenderloin steak will be provided by Junior Past Master - Earl Ray Sutton and served at 6:30 p.m. Members are asked to provide a complimentary covered side dish, bread, salad or dessert.
Performance Talent is proud to announce the addition of Debra McIntire to the teaching staff at the studio. She is currently accepting students for all forms of dance, tumbling, cheer and gymnastics. Debra has 30 years experience teaching Dance, Cheer and Gymnastics to boys and girls, ages 2 to adult. Debra hold 6 teaching degrees and is certified to judge.

On the morning of August 21st, a group of individuals broke into the hardware store in Richland Springs. The San Saba Sheriff's Office was notified and arrived on the scene by 8:30 a.m. of that morning and began an investigation. The suspects entered through a rear 2nd floor window and exited through the back door, taking numerous items. The Sheriff's Office was able to recover all of the items stolen and five individuals are being charged with burglary of a building.
The San Saba County Commissioners Court met on Monday, August 23, at 9 a.m. for a Special Meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to propose a tax increase. The Commissioners approved unanimously the proposed tax increase and set up the following public hearings and to announce the meetings in the newspaper: September 7th, 9 a.m.; September 13th, 6 p.m.
COMMERCIAL NATIONAL BANK GRAND OPENING - Friday, August 20th 2010, Richard Menchaca and staff at Commercial National Bank held their Grand Opening. They invited the public to come and enjoy hot dogs, Dr. Peppers, giveaways and to also attend the ribbon cutting held by several of the directors of the San Saba County Chamber of Commerce.
