'''San Saba's Cross Country team competes at Coleman meet''' On a cool windy day, District 8-AA met at the golf course at Coleman to run off the district cross country meet. San Saba’s Rebecca Parades and Danessa Vasquez both qualified for regional in Lubbock on November 8, 2008.

Team winners were Brady in the girls and Comanche in the boys. Other team qualifiers in girls were Comanche and Early. In boys, Brady & Dublin. San Saba did not have a team in either division. Early won the 7th Girls championship with Brady winning the 8th Girls.

Rebecca Parades ran her first meet of her life on October 1, so she has come a long way in a short time. Danessa Vasquez had not worked out in 5 days because of a viral infection, so she was not near 100% for this race. Under the circumstances, both did fantastic jobs. Alexa Maxcey came in third in 8th grade girls for the other medal winner for San Saba.
