FFA Forages Team - Summer Smarr, Kensley Seay, Skyla Shannon, Mr. Wayne Hux, and Kase Bordner
As the end of the year ends, there are so many events taking place. FFA has been very busy the last few weeks. Skyla Shannon and Summer Smarr competed at the Kingsville FFA Ag Mechanics Show. Skyla received a blue ribbon for her wagon wheel table. Summer received a red ribbon for her patio bench. The Forages team competed in Huntsville in the state contest and placed 75th as a team. Team members are Kensley Seay, Summer Smarr, Kase Bordner, and Skyla Shannon. The FFA Banquet is on May 15th at the firehall. There will be an awards ceremony, meal, and silent auction. Everyone is welcome to attend.
STAAR tests and EOCs are in full swing right now. Make sure to check the school calendar for those important dates.
Over the weekend, many of our Cherokee athletes competed at the regional track meet and we have several advancing to state. Gunner Baugh, Joey Bond, and the boys 4X100 and 4X200 relay teams are all moving on. Congratulations to these tracksters!
Some important dates coming up: May 7th Church of Christ Senior Social, May 8th PTC meeting, May 9th PreK-2 field trip to Austin Aquarium and Color Run, and May 13th State track meet in Austin.
