Dear Editor,
It is almost time to vote. But where are we going to vote? You may lose the luxury of having your polling place near you. A lack of interest in volunteers, in both parties, to man the polling places may necessitate the closing of these respective boxes. You may have to drive 16 or 17 miles to vote.
The county chairs have stringent rules from the Secretary of State and their respective political party headquarters as how to hold an election.

One might imagine that there are a lot of places that some folks might find boring. We would seriously doubt that Texas would be listed among those. Though there are many diverse aspects of Texas such as geography, landscape, history, sports, hunting & fishing, traveling, etc. to keep one’s attention honed, the weather alone would be sometimes sufficient in keeping us occupied.
We hear of lots of folks that are still in the process of repairing pipes, pumps, and plugging le ...

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association had a beautiful sunny day for play day on January 21, 2010. Texans are surely blessed to have such days as this in the middle of the winter.

It seems that winter is our least popular season. Even though we do not have a lot of truly cold weather in this part of the world, it is usually cold enough in winter to limit many favorite outdoor activities. The daylight hours are much shorter, and the leaves are off the trees making them look dead.

"I'll leave home," he said. But the next day he damaged his throwing arm, and there was nothing to do but become a lawyer.
Bill considered himself a failure.

Life is great in rural Texas, sure we may not have some luxuries they have in the metropolitan areas, but we have many things to offer that larger schools and communities have lost. Today I am specifically talking about the county livestock and youth fair. I hope you took the time to attend and visit the youth projects displayed at the Senior Center and of course the animal exhibition at the show barn.

What are inhalants?
Inhalants are volatile substances that produce chemical vapors that can be inhaled through the nose or mouth to induce a psychoactive, or mind-altering, effect. Although other abused substances can be inhaled, the term "inhalants" is used to describe a variety of substances whose main characteristic is that they are rarely, if ever, taken by any route other than inhalation.
