November 11th is stated to be celebrated as Veterans Day. Federal and State agencys closed and it is a designated day for flags to be flying.
For the Veterans, it is a time to remember some things they would rather forget because the memory is terrifying. However, we should not forget their sacrifice as they served their country - some in wartime and others prepared and ready to defend and help.
San Saba Elementary School invited Veterans for breakfast at 7am and a progr ...

San Sabans recently showed their courage by filing hundreds of protests and comment letters with the Texas Public Utility Commission (PUC). The issue that stiffened San Saba’s collective spine is the high-voltage transmission line proposed by Oncor Electric Delivery Company.

REVELATION: 13:5-8 (Please read from your Bible to save space. These verses describe the coming of the anti-christ, who will come before Jesus Christ, he will blaspheme God and all in heaven, make war against the saints and overcome them, will reign for 42 months, and all will worship him who are not true Christians).
The great almighty GOD will permit Satan as an anti-christ to have a short reign at the end of this world age.

Getting kids to eat vegetables and other new foods can be difficult. Research shows that often it takes someone tasting a food 10 to 15 times before they decide they like it. That requires some patience and sometimes being a little sneaky, too. Put new foods together with favorites and keep the portions small.

It was tragic. Recently we were all horror-stricken to hear that a gunman was shooting people on an army base. The army base, Fort Hood, is the biggest we have and close to us. Thirteen people died. Thirty were wounded. Families were shattered. Emotions of grief were exhibited by all that heard of it.

FAMILY ABUSE …AND THEY WALK AMONG US Could You Be One?
Written by Dee Vickery, founder & director of Off the Beaten Path Ministries, Inc.
Your son or daughter may be married to one. Your friend or neighbor could be one. That man or woman that works with you may be one. Or, could that man or woman that sits next to you in church be impatiently waiting for the service to end so they can go on with their plans to blow their brains out because they are sick of hurting the people they love?

Sunday was a pretty day, then we woke up Monday to a cold north wind which blew all day. Not a day for outdoor activities as far as I was concerned. We are in a freeze warning tonight.
Eight members turned out for the Busy Bee quilters day last Tuesday.

A fellow was leaving a Veterans' Hospital, and a friend said, "I didn't know you were wounded during the war."
"I wasn't wounded," he answered. "I was injured."
"Which battle?" he asked.
"It wasn't in a battle," he said, "I was running from a battle."
As it was with him, so it is with the soldiers of the Lord.

HUMILITY, THE PATH TO STRENGTH
By Dr. Dennis J. Prutow, Sterling, Kansas
Do you experience a lack of self-confidence? A lot of people do. Some folks try to cover it up by acting tough. Others try to compensate by showing off or by wearing flashy clothes.
Why is it that people like this, people who have a poor self-image, are too proud to turn to God?

Here we are again, in do or die season. Once again our Coyote
players did what they had to do and brought home the win. We thought the score would be 45’d to 0 at the half, but we let our guard down. With little time on the clock, we let them sneak one in for a touchdown.

The San Saba Lady Dillos won their season opener as they downed the Lady Lions from Brownwood by a score of 55-43. Their “matchup” zone gave us some trouble but we settled down and made some plays down the stretch. We had a double digit lead on them a few times but could never really seem to put them away.
