II Corinthians 11:14-14 - "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."
There is great confusion in our world today concerning the Antichrist.

We are one day closer to those rains that are coming our way. I did not say it was going to rain tomorrow, but that we are one day closer. If you have lived here in the Texas Hill Country very long you know that when our droughts break it is a “Frog Strangler” of a rain.

We have heard a lot in the news this past week about a plan to “Bail out” wall street. The idea is so that our economy will do better. Evidently there are some people who got rich and while doing so were not forthright and honest about it. Now they want the average taxpayer to have to pay for all of this.

October 8, 1908
Cotton pickers are in demand in all parts of San Saba County now, but if the favorable weather continues a few weeks to come, the river valley cotton will be gathered and the pickers can go into the sandy land and soon pick the crop there, which opened up late, but is good.
The game law is being flagrantly violated every day and we shall not be surprised to see the next grand jury doing some lively work along this line.

It seems that we had from 2 to 2.5 inches of rain in the Elm Grove area from the cloud that blew in Sunday night after midnight. We received 1.5 inches here in Richland Springs. This brings the years’ total to 16 inches for Elm Grove, far short of the same time period last year.

Sometimes, folks have remarked that one of the most constant aspects of San Saba is that of very little change, or in other words, staying somewhat the same. Anyhow, I’m here to testify that it certainly is not as dry as it happened to be last week. Therefore, in spite of the apparent apathy of staying static, even our fair County has to experience some change now & again.
We’ve heard a few rainfall reports from some folks around certain parts of the County, but due to the fact of the rain ...

Do not worry every thing is ok; the government is going to take care of you. Surely the financial institutions will not fail, after all they are protected by FDIC or SIPIC or something else. Dear Editor:
After a long week of work and non-stop activities with four children, it was Saturday morning and we were off to yet another football game . . . our third that week! Weary, and running 45 minutes late with 45 minutes to drive, first stop - the station.
As I began cleaning out a week's worth of trash from my Expedition, my husband pumped the gas.

People are fascinated seeing satellites silently gliding across the night sky. We wrote about this last year, but continuing comments and questions compel us to visit the subject again.
While most folks have seen satellites, many weren’t sure that’s what they were seeing. Much slower than streaking meteors, satellites look more like high-flying airplanes.

On Friday night a light sprinkle and lots of lightening and thunder, it was quite a display. Then glory be! Sometime Sunday night the rain came leaving more than 2 inches of rain. There was not any run off, but the ground got a good soaking. The electricity was off for some time early Monday, not only here but it was reported to have been off in Brownwood also.
Barbara Jones and her sister Glenda Scroggins both were dismissed from the hospitals on the same day.

Saturday morning arrived none too soon! I had to check the moon last night to see if it was full, but only a little sliver peeped out at me. So early this morning, I took my cup of tea out to the swing, and meditated on why this week has been so stressful.
Several thoughts presented themselves for my examination, but I’m not sure that I came up with the correct answer.
