Etta Belle Skaggs, 60, of Cherokee passed away Thursday November 27, 2008 in Llano, Tx. She was born December 23, 1947 in Llano. Etta Belle was the daughter of Aubrey Thomas Berry and Beatrice Spurlin Berry. On May 21, 1966, Etta Belle Berry and Stoney Skaggs were married in San Saba. Stoney preceded her in death June 14, 2007. Etta Belle attended the Baptist Church.

Etta Belle is survived by her mother Beatrice Berry of Cherokee; Sons, Wayne Skaggs and his wife Karen of Cherokee; and Shayne Skaggs and his wife Lorrie of Killeen. Daughter, Kristi Castro and her husband Brandon of Cherokee. Grandchildren: Kelly Skaggs, Sydney Skaggs, Emily Skaggs, Matthew Skaggs, Krystian Castro, Kaytlin Castro, Karsyn Castro, Robert Montgomery, Christopher Montgomery, Jacob Lefler, and James Lefler. One brother, Jesse Berry and his wife Teresa of Dripping Springs. Sisters: Betty Koerth and her husband Winston of Ozona; Joan Lackey and her husband Henry of Kingsland and Eva Yarbrough and her husband Lawton of Cherokee, and several nieces and nephews.

Etta Belle was preceded in death by her father,Aubrey Berry and her husband, Stoney Skaggs.

Graveside services were held Monday, December 1, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Cherokee Cemetery with Doug Suggs officiating.

Family received friends Sunday, November 30, 2008 7:30 – 9:00 P.M. at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home.

Family requests that memorials be made to the Cherokee Home for Children.

Funeral Services were under the direction of Howell-Doran Funeral Home.
