The San Saba JV football team played their final game against Coleman on Thursday, Nov. 6. They were victorious with a score of 49 to 19. The Armadillos were led with solid defense only allowing 230 total yards for the Bluecats. The swarming Dillo Defense played well all night by creating 10 negative yard plays and forcing 3 Bluecat turnovers. Some defensive standouts were Dominic Rosales, Isaac Jimenez, Will Sloan, Jason Wells, Tanner Weyerts, Alex Cervantes, Tanner Hawkins, and Ryan Pannell. Jason Wells had an interception while Ryan Pannell and Morgan Gilger caused fumbles. Isaac Jimenez and Josh Wright each had a fumble recovery that contributed to the success of the Dillo Defense. Clayton Perry did an excellent job all night fielding and returning punts for 35 yards.

On the offensive side, huge holes were opened up by Tanner Weyerts, Cody Herd, Morgan Gilger, Will Sloan, Dominic Rosales, and Isaac Jimenez. The offense rolled up 431 yards. Allan Hale led the Armadillo rushing attack with 157 yards on 15 carries. Other rushers were Ryan Pannell with 40 yards and 4 carries, Zach Davis with 72 yards on 12 carries, and Alex Cervantes with 55 yards on 8 carries. The passing part of the offense rolled on as well. Ryan Pannell 7 completed passes out of 18 attempts for 107 yards. Catching these passes were Clayton Perry with 1 catch for 9 yards, Isaac Jimenez had 2 catches for 42 yards, Jason Wells had 2 catches for 26 yards, and Luke Cox had 1 catch for 30 yards.

The JV Dillos played their final game and are a great group of young men and great bunch to coach. We look forward to seeing their continued success on and off the field. We would like to thank all the parents and Dillo supporters throughout this football season. Without their support these kids could not have achieved the success they did. With hard work in the spring, summer, and other sports, these young men will have a great opportunity to build on the success of this season. The future looks bright for these young Dillos!!!
