A good crowd cheered the varsity Coyotes to a 70-0 victory over the Santa Anna Mountaineers in the fourth game of district play. The Varsity Coyotes are now 9-0 on the year and 4-0 in district! The Varsity Coyotes play Veribest at home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 7th.
The Jr. High Coyotes won against Santa Anna last Thursday by a score of 52-25. The Junior High Coyotes are now 6-1 on the year! The Junior High plays Veribest at 6:00 p.m. this Thursday at Veribest field. The Junior Varsity beat Sterling City 57-12 last week. The Junior Varsity is undefeated for the season! The Junior Varsity is idle this week.
The Mighty Coyote Band is sounding better each week. The band is practicing new music for Homecoming. Homecoming ceremonies are scheduled for November 7th for our last home game against Veribest. Senior class members will be introduced to the halftime crowd and escorted by their parents. The Homecoming Queen, Coming Home King and Queen, Band Sweetheart, and Football Beau will be announced. Come out and support the band, cheerleaders, the student athletes, and 2009 seniors at the game; you won’t be disappointed!
Homecoming queen candidates will be presented at halftime ceremonies. Representing the Senior class is Miss Jennifer Melin. Representing the Junior class is Miss Kelsey Huddleston. Representing the Sophomore class is Miss Emily Smith. Representing the Freshmen class is Miss Kensie Green.
Girl’s Varsity basketball scheduled their first scrimmages of the year this past Saturday. The Varsity girls outscored Sidney but came up short against Zephyr.
The Richland Springs’ 4-H club under the guidance of Valerie Gossett held their monthly meeting this past Tuesday after school. These students are learning citizenship skills that will last a lifetime.
If you’ve visited campus after dark, you’ve noticed the new and improved campus lighting. The extra lighting will make our campus brighter and safer after dark.
Don’t miss the Booster Clubs’ CHILI/BINGO NIGHT on Nov. 8th at the high school cafetorium. Several classes will also sponsor booths such as Jail, Cake Walk, Nickel Toss, Duck Pond, Fortune Teller, etc. Come out and join the fun!
