The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met October 23, 2008 for play day with the Chair for October, Dorothy Sterner, calling for a game of Low Gross and Low Putts.
Sandee Hartley won first Low Gross and second Low Putts while Anita Miles won first Low Putts and second Low Gross. It was a battle to the wire! A prize was given to Jo Anne Hardy and Hattie Rogers who tied for second Low Gross and a prize given to Becky Hardin for second Low Putts after the first winners were eliminated from an additional prize. Sandee Hartley, Becky Hardin, and Bobbie Churchill all chipped in to split the chip in pot. Jo Ann Snow and Dorothy Sterner also participated.
Bobbie Churchill had emergency surgery this week and will be out for a few weeks but is recuperating at home and doing well. Bobbie had shoulder surgery several years ago but did her therapy and was quickly right back on the links with a good game of golf! So we are definitely expecting Bobby to have a full recovery!
The ladies are discussing with the city to purchase water fountains for two of our small lakes and they would certainly be a beautiful addition to our course. How do you like our new name “San Saba River Golf Course”? Classy, don’t you think? The City has placed bright and colorful new signs with our City logo on them leading to our Course and RV Park. San Saba is on the move! We appreciate the City Council and City Manager for all they do for the San Saba River Golf Course! It’s a gorgeous place to be “swinging!”
