William (Bill) Paxton Dyer, 76, passed away on Oct. 27, 2008 in San Saba, TX. He was born on a farm in Tahoka, TX, one of eight children to James and Carrie Fern Dyer.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jonnie Hanna Dyer. They were married Nov. 23, 1950 in San Angelo.
He attended Pecan Grove Baptist Church, where he and Jonnie led the music for many years.Bill was a retired rancher, owner of Cen Tex Fuel Co.and a devoted husband, father and Paw Paw.
Bill had a contagious zest for life and “never met a stranger”. He was the eternal optimist and encourager and will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
He is survived by his 3 children and their spouses; Steve and Marcia Dyer, Mark and Jackie Dyer; of San Saba, Adra Dyer Berryhill and John of Wichita Falls; and four grandchildren; Trey Dyer, Tanner Berryhill, Ashlyn Berryhill and Jeri Ann Dyer. Also surviving are his sister, Gloria Brewer of Henderson, TX.; brothers E.B. Dyer of Konowa, OK.; Marlin Dyer of LaPorte, TX.; and Nathan Dyer of Louisiana.
Services for William Dyer will be on Friday,October 31 at 11a.m. at The Pecan Grove Baptist Church, with Reverend Don Ramsey officiating.
Visitation with the family will be at Howell-Doran Funeral Home on Thursday,October 30 from 7-9 p.m.
Memorials can be made to the San Saba County EMS.
