Ruth V. (Harkey) Mackie 88 passed away August 31, 2008 in Rockport, Texas. She was born in San Saba, Texas July 20, 1920, to Levi T. Harkey and Ida Simmons Harkey. Services were held September 4, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. She was buried in San Jose Burial Park.

She was preceded in death by husband Frank L. Mackie; son Randall Dean Mackie; daughter and son-in-law Anita Fay Smith and Bruce A. Smith; two granddaughters, Kimberly A. Smith and Deana L. Ashcraft.

She is survived by two sons, Charles L. Mackie and wife Myra of New Braunfels, Texas; Roger D. Mackie and wife Sylvia of Aransas Pass, Texas; daughter-in-law Diane Mackie of Sequin, Texas; niece Marie Ward of Freeport, Texas. Three grandchildren, Miya (Rich) Cattalini; Dan (Lisa) Mackie, and Tommy Curtis of California. Three great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Felicia Curtis, and Ryan Mackie. One sister-in-law, Charlene Williams of Dallas. And many more nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Joe Shippey, David Shippey, Joey Pirhala, Pete Ruiz, Russell Oden, and Merlin Ashcraft.
