The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met October 2, 2008 for the monthly business meeting with the President, Anita Miles, calling the meeting to order and opening the meeting with prayer led by Hattie Rogers. The Secretary, Hattie Rogers, read the minutes and they were approved as read. The Treasurer, Bobbie Churchill, gave the financial report.

Sandee Hartley, the Traveling 4-Ball Chair, gave a report on the tournament hosted by the San Saba Ladies. Jo Anne Hardy reported that the last bench has been painted. The ladies voted unanimously to make a generous donation to the Cancer Society as they did not participate in the Relay for Life and have voted not to sponsor the Cancer Golf Event due to the small membership.

The meeting was adjourned for play day with the Chair for October, Dorothy Sterner, calling for a game of Nassau, winner on the front nine, winner on the back nine, and winner overall. The score was determined by handicaps. Jo Anne Hardy had a grand day winning all events; however, a prize was given for the second place front nine to Jo Ann Snow and a prize for back nine to Sandee Hartley. Anita Miles scored the Low Gross for the day. Pat Ribb was able to play nine holes and had a good round. Nell McHorse was present for the business meeting.

Six ladies, Anita Miles, Jo Anne Hardy, Jo Ann Snow, Hattie Rogers, Sandee Hartley, and Priscilla Muse, will be attending the Texas Senior Ladies Tournament in Huntsville, Texas on October 7, 8, & 9, 2008. This is an event all the ladies look forward to and we will hopefully have some winners. The ladies have been busy practicing and getting ready for this big event by “swinging!”
