The descendents of the late John Reese Smallwood and Almira Woodward Smallwood met on Sunday, September 28, 2008, at the home of Ann and the late J.M. Bearden, with their children, Chuck and Karla Bearden, Jymie and Byron Reno, and Mary and Jerry Williams as hosts.

Family members had a good time and enjoyed visiting, taking pictures, working on the Smallwood genealogy, looking at pictures and getting acquainted with the youngest family member, Trevor Loeffler, one-year-old son of Kathy and Brett Loeffler. The proud grandparents are Chuck and Karla Bearden and proud great-grandparents are Ann and the late J.M. Bearden.

Picnic tables and chairs were set up in the yard in the shade of the large hackberry tree. After Chuck Bearden said the blessing, a delicious covered dish potluck lunch was enjoyed by all.

Those attending were Carla Carr, Georgetown; Margaret Ivy Landgrebe, Westhoff; Harvey and Gloria Ivy, Irving; Harold and Connie Houde, Arlington; Jim, Stephanie and Brandon Chase, Arlington; Bill Champion and daughter, Cassandra Champion, Katy, Texas; Brett and Kathy Loeffler, Kamryn and Trevor; Chuck and Karla Bearden, Mason, Texas; Jim and Vera Ralston, Richland Springs; Billy and Fay Muhlinghaus, Rowlett, Texas; Sharon Ellis, San Saba; Ronnie Holmes, Breck and Kailey, Bertram, Texas; Jerry and Mary Williams, Burnet; and Jymie and Byron Reno, Bertram, Texas.

Ann and family will host the reunion next year, the last Sunday of September 2009. All family and friends are invited.
