Dexter Martin, 92, of Richland Springs, Texas passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008, in Brownwood Regional Hospital in Brownwood, Texas. He was born February 17, 1916, in Bowser, Texas, the son of Homer Dudley Martin and Josie Miller Martin.

On July 18, 1934, Dexter married Nadine Cochran in Locker, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 7, 1994. Dexter attended the Baptist church.

He is survived by sons: Rufus D. Martin of Bridgeport, Texas and Tommy Dexter Martin and his wife, Ferol, of Austin, Texas; grandchildren: Edie McDonald, Tina Love, Cindy Lawson, Debbie Matthews, Tammy Tinsley, Sheri Teague, Lori Casper, Nicole Burns, and Justin Riddle; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother,Dudley Martin of California; and one sister, Belle Martin of Louisiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Gene Martin; one daughter, Mary Joe Martin; and one brother, Jim Jack Martin.

Services were held Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home in San Saba, with Rev. George McHorse officiating. Interment followed at the Richland Springs Cemetery in Richland Springs, TX.

The family requests that memorials be made to the donors' favorite charity.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Howell-Doran Funeral Home.
