The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met September 25, 2008 for play day with the Chair for September, Sandee Hartley, calling for a game of “Mutt and Jeff”, counting only the “short” par threes and the “tall “ par fives.

The winner of the game low gross went to Sandee Hartley and the winner of the game low net went to Jo Ann Snow. Anita Miles scored the Low Gross for the day and Jo Ann Snow the Low Net. Sandee also chipped in to win the chip in pot.

The yearly time change will go into effect October 1, 2008 with play day beginning at 10:00 AM; however, the monthly business meeting on October 2, 2008 will begin at 9:00 AM for this month only.

This little old lady, me, when out to practice a few rounds and had a flat. Now there is a group of business men who play on Wednesday afternoons and so in my plight I went over to their group for help. They had just finished their round and were visiting, adding scores, and just having a good time when they were interrupted. They all began to try and help me. Keith Harris immediately got on the cart and we slowly got it to the air tank but alas, problems. So Bob Whitten comes along and sees we need a jack and goes to his pick up and takes care of our problem. These are the perks of San Saba! Where you can always count on your neighbor and we’re all neighbors! It’s great to live in Texas but even better to live in San Saba, “The Pecan Capital of the World”!

So thanks, all you handsome guys, for being you and helping in such an emergency. I needed to be “swinging!”
