Judge Byron Theodosis called to order the September 25th meeting of the San Saba County Commissioners Court. Roger McGehee gave the invocation, followed by everyone pledging allegiance to the American and Texas flags.

The Commissioners reviewed a few amendments and changes to the Proposed 2008-2009 County Budget. After a short discussion, the 2008-2009 County Budget was unanimously approved.

Lisa Dillon, a representative of the Central Texas Council of Government, was introduced and she presented Brenda Willis, San Saba County Dispatcher, the Silent Hero Certificate of Achievement Award. Brenda was recognized for this award in Austin recently.

The Commissioners approved the following: Setting of the General Fund ad valorem Tax Rate of 0.569 per $100 of valuation and the Special Road/Bridge Fund ad valorem Tax Rate of 0.1430 per $100 of valuation for a combined total County ad valorem Tax Rate of 0.712 per $100 of valuation.

The Commissioners discussed weather conditions and the need for rain. Fires in the community have been keeping the fire departments busy; therefore, the burn ban will stay in effect for San Saba County.

Treasurer Gayla Hawkins presented the accounts payable for review. Attention was noted for two bills that arrived too late for processing for accounts payable because the office just received them and they were actually mailed in 2007. The Commissioners approved the payment of all accounts payable.

The Commissioners approved the Amendments and the Line Item Transfers to the 2007-2008 Budget.

The meeting was adjourned by Judge Theodosis. The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 14th, at 9 a.m.
