Our car broke down, and a mechanic was working under the hood. His helper stood by with a flashlight, but he became interested in our dog and the light went out.
"Shine your light," shouted the mechanic. "That's what you're here for."
To the Christian our Lord said, "You are the light of the world." And what are you here for? To "shine your light."
He didn't say, "You are the light of the church," but "of the world." If the effects of your Christianity stop at the church, it's of no use to anyone.
You should be just as much a Christian at the playground as at the prayer meeting, in your house as in God's house, at the plant as in your pew.
Is your light shining?
