Last week I was standing in a checkout line of a major grocery store when I happened to notice a number of different magazines. As I stood there looking at the different covers I noticed several topics or recurring themes.

There were some that mentioned romance and others that mentioned food and meal preparation but two major themes seemed to be the clothes they wore or attire and the shape or weight of their body. There were all kinds of articles on how to lose this or how to lose that.

Other articles majored on dress and how to make you more appealing. The undertone of most of the articles was how to make you more attractive or appealing to men. Women used to have a dress code or standard but today it seems to have been thrown out the window. The Bible has a lot to say about women’s dress and beauty.

Women can dress and behave improperly, (Isaiah 3:16-23). Christian women should not let our culture or the world dictate their style of dress. They should dress in a way that pleases God, (1 Corinthians 10:31, 1 Peter 3:1-5).

There is a special beauty that women can have and it is not just external, (1 Timothy 2:9&10). God created women special but they are to dress and behave in a special way and men are to treat them with honor, (1Peter 3:7) See you in Church next Sunday.
