Due to conflicting events there will be no workday at the Cox Cemetery on September 13th. We have had such a small amount of rain, there has been very little mowing to do and it was decided to cancel the workday and business meeting. The next workday will be the first Saturday in May 2009. Donations or memorials may be mailed to June Beakley at 1557 Cr 448 Rochelle, Texas 76872 .
I need to correct the list of original Elm Grove Roping Club members which I submitted a couple of weeks ago. I omitted Glen Bush from the list. Glen, as well as Andy Cummings, Rooster Holland and Jr. Evans are the remaining living members. Sorry about the mistake.
Marilyn Suber and I did a little shopping in Brownwood last Saturday then visited with my sister and nephew, Addie and Lowell Long. Addie turned 88 on Friday so we went by to take her some surprises.
We opted to stay home last Friday night and listen to the football game on the radio due to the thundering going on at the time.
The Coyotes played a good game and defeated Walnut Springs by a score of 82-36 in the third quarter. The Coyotes will travel to Covington this Friday night.
The 42 tournament will be September 13th at Richland Springs.
There will be no community meeting this month due to the rodeo appreciation supper on the 20th. We hope you are all planning to attend the gospel singing on October 18th. We would love to fill the old school house and raise the roof!
