San Saba Extension Education members Bonnie Harkey, Sherri Cradduck, Mary Jane Dennis, Phyliss Phoehlmann, Fran Hulgan & Lynn Blankenship along with Carolyn McDowell, the county extension agent, attended the District 7 EEA Retreat at the 4-H Center in Lake Brownwood on July 12th.

The day was filled with interesting programs, good food and the District 7 Cultural Arts judging. A number of the entries from San Saba County won blue ribbons and are eligible to go to the state meeting which will be held in September at Corpus Christi. Phylis Phoehlmann received blue ribbons for her jewelry and beaded purse. The purse also took best of show. Bertha Griffay’s small double wedding ring quilt and Lynn Blankenship’s recycled blue-jean throw were also first place winners. Congratulations ladies.
