There was a great turn out for the 19th annual Lindsey Reunion, held June 14, 2008, at the San Saba Community Center. This year's attendance topped out at 49 family members, friends, and guests. The Lindsey Reunion is a reunion of the children of Archie and Bess Lindsey.

The group trickled in during the morning hours, enjoying coffee and donuts. Breaking a long-running tradition of catfish for lunch, catering was done by Vee B's B-B-Q, which turned out to be a big hit and was delicious! Those that could stand the heat visited outside. Of course, the little ones visited the Mill Pond Park and enjoyed feeding the ducks.

After lunch, Lolly Maultsby ran the family auction which raised funds to pay for the reunion. Despite what looked like a smaller-than-usual selection of merchandise, Lolly managed to coax a respectable amount from the crowd! Donations by several family members helped boost the total.

Attending this year were: Sara Maultsby, Brenda Land, Heather, David, John David and Jacob Bourke; and Duke, Michelle, Nicki, and Joe Lindsey; all from San Saba; Lolly Maultsby of Angleton; Len, Dawn, Jordan, and Cooper Means of Brownwood; Les Means of Cedar Park; Sharon Maultsby, and Walt and Stacey Maultsby of Ft. Worth; Jason and Jonathan Means; Kevin, Clint and Dana Land; and Roland Lindsey, of Georgetown; Jeanelle Robertson, Steve and Brenda Robertson, Susan, Brock, Maeghan, and Mason Bell; Lisa, Brandon, Ella and Lucy Harper; and Nathan Curley, all of Pflugerville; Duke and Gwen Robertson and Josslyn King, of Taylor; Kari Lindsey of College Station; Audrey Heath, Heather, Brian, Dean, Tyler and Kaelyn Mitchell; of Ft. Worth; and Matthew Boswell, Patrick, Nicky and Elizabeth Mellon.

Notably missing from our group this year was Billy Maultsby, son to Sara. Billy succumbed to cancer last fall. His laughter and antics were missed!

A short business meeting was held to decide whether to continue to hold the reunion. The response was an unanimous "Yes," so the Lindseys will converge again in 2009 on Saturday, June 13th, for their 20 reunion.
