On Thursday, the 19th of this month, Justin Daniel Salinas was sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Corrections for violating his probation on a drug conviction. 33rd District Judge Dan Mills heard the case and sentenced Salinas, whose original charge was for Possession of a Controlled substance (Methamphetamine) more than four grams but less than 200 grams in a drug free zone. Sheriff Brown and Deputy Tony Jacobs arrested Salinas back in January 2010 and the case was pending trial when Salinas plead guilty to the charge, and was then placed on probation. During the time that Salinas was awaiting trial in San Saba, he was arrested for a felony narcotics charge in Lampasas, TX and was convicted and sentenced to five years in TDCJ for that offence. Salinas was also recently indicted on another delivery charge that occurred here in San Saba, during the time he was awaiting trial in San Saba and Lampasas, that case is still pending with the District Attorney's office at this time. Salinas is currently being held in the Comanche County jail.
