Hunting has become a vital part of San Saba County's economy. Businesses, as well as landowners profit. If predators are not controlled, they can and will cause a decline in the availability of wildlife. Therefore it's important to keep the predator population in check in order to continue to attract hunters to our county.

The Association again sponsored a predator contest this past year. A total of 33 coyotes, 17 bobcats and 4 red foxes were taken. The contest winners each received a rifle. This seasons winners were Mel Judkins, Boerne; Jerry Don Moss, Llano and Alton Tinney, San Saba.

The Livestock and Wildlife Association needs as many members as possible. If you have not joined and are interested, directly or indirectly, in protecting the county's economic resources, please use the form provided in our ad to make a donation. Listed below in our ad are the members that have donated this season. If you're not listed please consider using the form to make a donation.
