March 8, 2010 - San Saba ISD is fortunate to be able to host most of its elections with the City of San Saba. The election season for school trustee is upon us. The date to file for a place on the ballot for the May 8, 2010 election was on Monday, March 8, 2010. With this date’s passing, the ISD would like to recognize 3 candidates who have filed for a two (2) places on the May ballot.

Incumbents, Angela Johnson and Susie Nettleship have filed as well, Kevin Shahan has filed for a place on the ballot. The election will be held on May 8, 2010 at the regular polling place located at the San Saba City Hall – 303 South Clear Street.

Early voting will begin on April 26 and continue through May 4, 2010. Serving on the school board of any school district is not an easy job, and it is certainly not one that provides any compensation. The service to the school and their community is all voluntary, but with that voluntary service comes a great amountof work, time spent meeting, planning and receiving annual training.

The staff and students of San Saba ISD feel so very fortunate to have and to have had dedicated and caring school board members who seek the common good for all students.

Please recall that spring break is upon us! SSISD staff and students will be out for spring break on Monday, March 15 – Friday March 19. School will resume on Monday March 22, 2010. We wish all staff and students a restful spring break!
