Funeral services for Lorey Etta Moore Allen, 74, of Cushing were held Saturday, February 27 at 1 p.m. at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing, Texas with Reverend Clint Johnson and Reverend Ronald Alsobrook officiating. Burial was in the Mays Cemetery near the Salem community.
Mrs. Allen died Wednesday, February 24 in Jacksonville. She was born January 1, 1936 in Ennis, Texas to Jim Blaine and Annie Buckner Moore. She had lived in Cushing for 26 years and had also lived in Arlington for many years. She had worked as a nurse for numerous physician's offices and had also worked at the Sacul Store and the Reklaw store. She was a member of the Atoy United Methodist Church and had served as the church pianist.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Teresa Kay Allen and brothers, Blaine Moore and Robert Wayne Thompson.
Survivors include husband, Bill H. Allen of Cushing, Texas (formally of San Saba); Mother-in-law, Pearl Cantrell of Richland Springs; Daughters and Son-in-law, Vanessa Jones of Cushing; Linda Fuqua of Arlington, Texas; Sheree and Ronnie Tubbe of Cushing; Step Son and Daughter-in-law, Steven and Margie Allen of Arlington; Step Daughters and Sons-in-law, Karen and Jim Reeves of Arlington; Cindy and Bob Elmore of Waxahachie, Texas. Four grandchildren: Juen St. Romain, Jason Fuqua, Justrin Bundrick and Taylor Bundrick; Four great-grandchildren: Austin Fuqua, Chandler Green, Breakya Green and Trendon Brown; Numerous step grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jamie Mays, Kevin Faulkner, Russell Moore, Justin Bundrick, Taylor Bundrick and Johathan Reddin. Honorary Pallbearer was Jerry Linthicum.
