Dear Editor,
It is almost time to vote. But where are we going to vote? You may lose the luxury of having your polling place near you. A lack of interest in volunteers, in both parties, to man the polling places may necessitate the closing of these respective boxes. You may have to drive 16 or 17 miles to vote.
The county chairs have stringent rules from the Secretary of State and their respective political party headquarters as how to hold an election. As a "volunteer" you are paid a stipend for your time and travel; as well as having the satisfaction of knowing that you have done a worthwhile service for your community.
But all of this is over-shadowed by whining, complaints of aches, pains and myriad of other excuses. You would not believe the excuses that have been aired. What will your excuse be when you do not have a place to vote, not only miles away, but maybe not a voting place AT ALL?
The Democrats and the Republicans are both short of people willing to give their time.
Think it over, the choice is yours. Please call one of us and do your part.
