Mr. Carl Gene "Liberace" Hamilton, age 72 of Lampasas, died Saturday January 16, 2010 at Regal Nursing and Rehab in Lampasas. Carl was born February 22, 1937 in Burnet County, Texas, the son of Leroy Hamilton and Nattie Mae Minton Hamilton. Carl was a lifelong resident of the area and had worked for Fulton Brown many years and continued working for Burke Brown at the feed store. Carl was affectionately known by all as "Liberace" because he loved to sing. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lampasas.

Visitation will be Wednesday Jan. 20, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Sneed Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m., with Brother Preston Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery, in Burnet County.

Survivors are: daughter, Theresa Greenberg of Lampasas; sister, Juanita Fay Carroll of Lampasas; 3 brothers, Nathan Hamilton of Lampasas; Marvin Hamilton of Kempner; and Donald Hamilton of Denver, Colorado; 3 grandchildren, Kelby Wagner, Skye Wagner and Hannah Greenberg; 1 great-grandchild, Kyley Medrano.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, by 2 brothers, Billy and Leroy; and by a sister Sybil.

Memorials may be sent to Bethel Cemetery Association.
