Marcus Anson Garrett, known by most as "Mark", following a lengthy battle with health issues, went home to be with the Lord on December 22, 2009, at Baylor Medical Center, Grapevine, Texas. Memorial service was held on December 26th at South Euless Baptist church in Euless, Pastor Johnny Kimberlin officiating; followed with internment at Richland Springs Cemetery, Pastor Barry Fikes of First Baptist Church of Richland Springs officiating.
Marcus was born August 13, 1962, at Arlington, Texas. His father, Joe Bob Garrett is formerly from Richland Springs and a graduate of Richland Springs High School; his mother, Wanda Patton Garrett is a native of San Saba and a graduate of San Saba High School. Marcus lived most of his life in Euless, Texas where he attended local schools and graduated from Trinity High School, Euless. Mark especially enjoyed being outdoors, and looked forward to hunting, fishing and camping trips and summer vacations and holidays enjoying farm life and the companionship of his grandfather at Richland Springs.
Marcus is survived by one daughter, April JoAnn Moody and husband, Russell of San Saba; parents, Joe Bob and Wanda Garrett of Euless; one sister, Kathy Jo Buzzard and husband, Guy of Grapevine; maternal grandmother, Billie Ruth Patton of Euless; nieces Addyson and Anna Buzzard of Grapevine, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends and his faithful dog, Wishbone. Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Glenn Patton of San Antonio, Texas, and paternal grandparents, Anson and Macie Garrett of Richland Springs, Texas.
Services were under the direction of Forest Ridge Funeral Home, Hurst, Texas.
