Zak Verette, 17, of San Saba, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was born March 26, 1992 in Brownwood, Texas, the son of Bobby Joe Verette and Kristel Hair Verette. He was a student at San Saba High School.

Zak is survived by his father, Bobby Joe Verette and his fiancée, Julie Gilger of San Saba; his brothers, B. J. Verette Jr. of Odessa; Brandon Verette of Odessa; Sean Britton of Houston; his sister, Destinee Verette of San Saba; his uncles, Roger Verette and his wife, Sue of San Saba; Sidney Verette and his wife, Donna of Ft. Stockton; Sammy Verette and his wife, Laura of Jourdanton; Jackie Hooten of San Saba; David Hair of Odessa; Dennis Hair of Corpus Christi; his maternal grandmother, Marilyn Hanley of Brownwood; his maternal grandfather, Bill Hair of Brownwood and his niece, Starla Serenity Verette of Odessa.

Zak is preceded in death by his his mother, his paternal grandparents, and his aunt, Annette Hooten (Memaw).

Services were held Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of San Saba with Rev. Sam Crosby officiating and Jamespaul Aidan Qazilbash assisting.

Interment followed at San Saba Cemetery.

The family received friends at the Howell-Doran Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 14, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The family requests that memorials be made to the San Saba Volunteer EMS or to the First Baptist Church of San Saba Building Fund.
