The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met November 12, 2009 for play day with the following members present: Sandee Hartley, Jo Ann Snow, Dorothy Sterner, Hattie Rogers, Becky Hardin, Janet Hoyt, Jo Anne Hardy, Bobbie Churchill, Anita Miles, and one guest, Patsy Teiken from Kimberley, Texas. Such a delightful lady and great golfer! Patsy calls herself a professional RV lady as she and her husband travel to different RV parks and play golf! She couldn’t say enough about the new San Saba River RV Park. She exclaimed how it was one of the nicest they had ever been to and a great secret. She proclaimed that when the Canada group hears about San Saba, we will be bombarded!
The Chair for November, Hattie Rogers, called for a game of “Best at Something” where you get one point for being in the fairway on your drive, one point for getting on the green in regulation, and one point for a one putt, however; then you must subtract one point for being in a hazard, one point for losing your ball, and one point for a three putt. This is one of the favorite games and it does improve your golf as you strive for these goals.
First Place went to our guest, Patsy Teiken, with 19 points, Second Place to Anita Miles with 18 points, and Third Place to Janet Hoyt with 16 points. Patsy and Sandee Hartley tied for the Low Gross for the day and Sandee was Low Net.
The chip in pot was split four ways! Anita Miles chipped in twice but alas it doesn’t matter, it was still split four ways! Patsy Teiken, Jo Ann Snow, and Becky Hardin were the other three ladies who chipped in.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner so begin counting your blessings, name them one by one! And “Praise the Lord” on this special day!
We had a beautiful sunshiny day on the links! A great day to just be “swinging!”
